I highly recommend this short story for a too quiet moment when you really need a jolt! Better than caffeine, this comes as a rush and sticks with you for longer than you'd like. War ain't easy and reading about war shouldn't be either. American soldiers aren't perfect. And sometimes when they screw up it's awful! Grab it, read it, experience it. And then thank me for recommending it.
Greg writes a great short story. For sure not what I was expecting but it sure makes you think. Now off to buy Enduring Patagonia!

An intense, tautly told story that begins with a foreboding feeling that things are going to go wrong, terribly wrong, for the young soldier who just wants to get through his tour of duty and get home to start his life. Events spin out of control, a life is lost and his is shattered. This story haunts the reader long after reading it; it's a powerful piece of writing.
Intense and tightly written and with a strong feeling of "the author has been there". One of those stories that you start reading again as soon as you finish it, so a good one to have on your .
I generally tend towards much longer fiction titles, but on a whim, I ous chased this short story this morning for my kindle. WOW. Well written, gripping, and it really left me wanting to know much more about all the characters, the end was a hard stop. I like it that way.
Now I just have to be patient and wait for the authors release of his other referred to short stories, most particularly the one where he gets rolled over by his own car. Fiction? Or autobiography?
